Greater Miami City Tour
The Five Most Popular Cultural Communities
Amazing Architecture
Price
Starting at $795
Duration
8 Hours
Description
This tour is a combination of the Miami Highlights tour, plus the extended cultural communities of Coral Gables and Coconut Grove.
Coral Gables is home to the Biltmore Hotel and the University of Miami. Coconut Grove is renewing itself from shotgun homes to a trendy college town, and is also home to Miami City Hall!
This tour begins with a visit to Little Havana, to discover how 40,000 Cuban immigrants built a "city within a city". The tour continues to Coral Gables, the "dream city" of George Merrick. Then, we'll look at Coconut Grove, homeland of the Bahamian immigrants. We will pass by City Hall, the Financial District, and Bayside Marketplace, a popular gathering area for cruise passengers. The tour includes a brief history of the area, plus an overview of the architecture of the Art Deco District of Miami Beach. We will drive along the international cafes of Ocean Drive, and the shops of Collins Avenue. See the "Versace Mansion" (Casa Casurina) and if time permits, a stroll along Ocean Drive or Lincoln Road.
